Overview: In 2017, Parramatta pool was demolished to make way for a new Western Sydney Stadium. Together the NSW Government and Parramatta City Council are funding the construction of a new start-of-the-art centre that will contain a 50-metre outdoor pool, a 25 metre indoor pool, a gym and a café.
Scope: Excel was engaged by Lipman on this landmark project to complete all works associated with excavation, piling works and public domain works for the construction of the iconic Parramatta Pool. Excel mobilised onsite in June 2021 to commence the early works and remediate the site. The bulk and detail excavation that involves cut to fill of approximately 40000m3 and cut and dispose of and additional 24000m3. The works also includes supply and install of approximately 400 shoring and foundation piles, installation of temporary and permanent anchors and approximately 1200m3 of shotcrete to be installed. The final stage of the project was completing the carpark construction and public domain works.
